From DMX to DMC

OK. OK. OK. I thought you all were hot for the whole DMX drama, but apparantly we've exhausted that! I have been busy for the past couple of days, and it looks like you Hip Hop Gumbo bloggers were too, because there is no new post.Has anyone caught Rev. Run's show lately?I know we've got old school and new schoolers here too.New schoolers tend to watch more T.V., and so I'm assuming you all know of the show. In case you don't,the season premiere of Run's House was on June 15th. It's the 2nd season of the series. The show basically follows former Run-DMC frontman, and his fam day in and day out.Question: What do you think of Rev. Run's show?Is it hip and funny, or lame and crummy?Like that last line. LOLOL
Rev. Run also has a site that gives daily words of wisdom, for you people of faith. You can receive daily words of wisdom in your email. http://www.revswordsofwisdom.com/

DMX's Drama

It's official...the topic of the discussion is DMX. June was a very drama filled month for rapper DMX/Earl Simmons. On June 2, he was stopped in White Plains for driving erratically. IThe po po said he cut another motorist off and was speeding . He was driving a 2001 Chevy Suburban, for those of ya'll that like to know that type of stuff. He was charged with a misdemeanor charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Just nine days later on June 16, he was issued a summons for driving on the shoulder of the road. This was beacause his 2006 Chevy Suburban was struck by another vehicle as he attempted to reenter traffic, while avoiding congestion on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Harrison, New York. DMX was supposed to be in court on June 16 to face the June 2 charges, but his appearance was postponed at the behest of his attorney. His appearance date was moved to June 21 to face the White Plains charges. I don't know what happened on that court date. I will find out, but I do know that he is supposed to go to court on my birthday that will be in Harrison, New York on July 21,( HEY~) , and that's for the incident on the Hutchinson River Parkway. Is he a non-driving son-of-a-gun? Is all of these incidents publicity stunts? Were the police in AZ trippin'? Hatin' on a brutha, watchin' his every move? What are your thoughts on this ? Blog them here, and if you chat on the wize records website you should know that one night we are going to meet and sit there and chat about it. All are welcome just go there create a name, leave an email address , and you're ready to chat. I will email you the times and dates. This seems to be a topic that you all are eager to discuss>>whoo-da- thunk- it?>>>LOLOL...

The Exploitation Of Women In Music! (All About The Booty)an Article by angie Wize

BOOTY , BOOTY, BOOTY, BOOTY, ROCKIN' ALL AROUND! That's Part Of A Lyric From A Song Entitled Ms. New Booty by Bubba Sparx(Sparxxx) featuring the Ying Ying Twins.
Songs that focus on the sexuality and anatomy of women can have an empowering effect on women. Other songs make women feel a sense of being demeaned and exploited. What happens when an artist makes a "booty song", and doesn't clearly assert what their intention for writing the lyric was, even when asked? For example, Beyonce Knowles wrote a song called Bootylicious. I saw her in an interview on BET, and they asked her why she wrote Bootylicious. She said she was on a plane and it kinda just came to her, and so she scibbled it down. I wish I could've asked her how she feels about millions of men looking at her as nothing but a piece of booty, and yes I know any man that sees her that way was probably goin' to see her like that irregardless of a song>laugh out loud....>>>To read the rest of this article written by angie wize go here >http://www.wizerecords.com/Exploitation%20of%20Women%20In%20Music.htm but come back and post any comments here.
